Pakistan – Traditional Chicken Kachori with Dry Apricot Sauce

Kachori is a deep fried bread filled with chicken and spices. The bread of the kachori is made with plain flour. This is very famous snacks in Pakistan especially in winters. In winters roadside are full with this yummy snack. You can serve this as an appetizer or with evening tea. Kachori is crispy from outside and soft from inside. Kachori are popular in Karachi. Its way of making is very unique this is like a puff pastry dough. There are many types of kachori.

The aroma of the kachori is so delicious.The specialty of chicken kachori is spices.The green corriander and green chili on the top of kachori give it a special touch.The best way to eat kachori is with dry apricot sauce.It inhance the flavor of kachori.The sweet sauceand spicy kachori combination goes very well together.Some people eat kachori with ithe types of sauce like tamarind sauce, mint sauce, yogurt dip and green chili dip.


  • Plain flour 2 cups
  • chicken chunks 500 g
  • salt 1 tsp
  • oil 1/2 cup
  • onion small 1
  • ginger paste 1 tsp
  • garlic paste 1 tsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • red chili 2 tbsp
  • garam masala 1 tsp
  • cumin roasted 1/2 tsp
  • corriander 2 tsp
  • green corriander 2 tbsp chopped

Method of cooking

Step 1

Take a large bowl and add plain flour, salt, water and mix well until the dough is formed.Now take a pan and add oil, onion and fry until golden brown.Now add ginger paste, garlic paste, chicken, turmeric, red chili, garam masala, cumin, coriander and fry for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2

In the fry add 1/2 cup of water and cover the lid for 15 minutes.After 15 minutes when the water dries again fry for 10 minutes.Now take a small ball of dough that we prepared and roll it with the rolling pin now in the middle place 5 tbsp of chicken batter and and cover it with another piece of the dough.Now fry it until golden brown.The kachori is ready.


  • dry apricot 300 g
  • water 1 cup
  • red chili 4 pinch
  • salt 2 pinch
  • sugar 1/2 cup

Method of cooking

step 1

Take a cooking pot and add all the ingredients in the pan and cook for 15 to 30 minuts. when the sauce is thicken put it in a blender and blend for 5 minutes. The sauce is ready.
