Levant, Egypt – Ful Medames With Challah

Ful medames is the Levantine salad made up of fava beans and raw vegetables. Ful medames is eaten in Arabic countries, Asia, Middle Eastern, and North African. This salad is the most ancient dish of Egyptian cuisine. There are many varieties of the dish around the world.

Egypt – Mahshi

Mahishi is a vegetable dish cooked with tomatoes and cumin, a soup filled with roasted meat and rice. Mahshi is an Egyptian holiday center where friends and family gather for Iftar on Sundays, especially during Ramadan. The Maheshi was one of the many ships of the Ottoman Empire that stretched from the Balkans to Lamont in Egypt during the ancient Empire. The dish was found in rice and/or meat or cabbage leaves in the Ottoman Empire.

Egypt – Dukkah

The Dukkah, which is a mixture of Egyptian herbs and spices, is broken down into broken jars that do not require much construction. Named Doka (Doka), it is a traditional Egyptian blend that contains ripe fruits, seeds, and hot spices. Doka means “post” in Arabic, an Egyptian spice made from fruits, seeds, and plants. In Egypt, it is said, “eeish we dua’ah,”, which means to deceive bread, because you can trust bread and good deception.

Egypt – Knafeh

Knafeh is an traditional Middle Eastern dessert and an delight of Egypt. It is one of the best desserts which you can eat in Egypt and also it is very popular in Levant. In other countries this dish is the same but its name is different. Like in Greece it is called kataifi and in Turkey it is called kadayif. It is said that in Fatimid Egypt the doctors prescribed this dish to Caliphates to satisfy their hunger during Ramadan. It was not until the 13th century something quite like this dish appeared as in the book Kitab al tabikh fi-l-Maghrib a dish like kunafa appeared.

Egypt – Bamia

Bamia is actually one of the best appetizers of Egyptian food. It is called a stew of OKRA. BAMIA is the Arabic word of OKRA and, Okra is called “LADIE’S FINGER” because its looks like this. Gombo is also called Okra. Bamia is made in two different ways, you can make it in a dry form or in a curry form. Bamia is found in ANATOLIA and in GREECE.

Egyptian Red Corn Soup is the best syrup in Egypt. In addition, it is very important in most Arab countries. Wheat soup is on the menu in every restaurant. Red jojoba soup relieved me of stress by providing me with a small amount of food and health.

Egypt – Hawawshi

This dish, actually a street food, depends upon the filling of meat which is filled in a pita. This is called “PITA POCKET”. Its filling is just like qeema or kofta which is stuffed in pita pockets. It is one of the most popular Egyptian dishes because it is simple, tasty, and frozen. This dish is made by the butcher who named as Ahmed al-Hawawshi.

Egypt – Bissara

Africa means food, travel, jungle, loneliness, and adventure. Bissara is a food which consists of beans and looks like mashed potatoes. It is actually a National dish of North Africa and consists of beans-type ingredients like peas. Moroccan food is broadly Mediterranean food. Morocco is home to mainly Tajiks and Pastels, a true symbol of Moroccan cuisine.

Egypt – Chocolate Hummus

Hummus is a spread, dip and basically a sauce which is originated in Egypt and spread all over the world especially Arab countries such as UAE and many more. A traditional hummus is made from chickpeas, paprika and garlic etc and eaten with pit bread as a dip. Mostly, hummus is considered as a part of Egyptian cuisine and also as it is originated in 13th century.

Mombar is always present in the ceremony, festivals, and special occasions of Egypt because it is a symbol of Love and shows luck to their occasions. This dish is not only popular in Egypt but also in different countries like ALGERIA, TUNISIA, SYRIA, LIBYA, etc.
