Pakistan – Traditional Rabri Falooda With Kulfi

Rabri falooda is the most famous dessert in Pakistan. Rabri falooda is very famous in ”OLD LAHORE” and in food street. Rabri is thick creamy milk that tastes so delicious and the texture is creamy and has little lumps of khoya (curd) in it. Seviyan is also very delicious and the texture is a little slimy and soft and chewy. Kulfi is also very famous to eat alone but it adds so much more flavor to FALOODA and the texture of kulfi is creamy and frozen so it melts in your mouth.Sheera (sugar syrup) is a very important part of falooda because it adds sweetness to the dessert and the texture is obviously really thick. Barf (crushed ice) is optional but most people love to add crushed ice to the falooda because it adds a crunchy texture to the falooda. The parts of the dessert are:

  • Rabri
  • Seviyan
  • Kulfi
  • Barf
  • Sheera
  • Strawberry syrup ( optional)

The interesting part of the dessert is the one who wants to eat falooda has to prepare the dessert by itself. The way to prepare is to take a bowl and add a normal quantity of seviyan and then add 2 tbsp full of rabri and then add 1 kulfi then add sheera this depends on you that how much sheera you want and then add strawberry syrup but most people do not add strawberry syrup to their falooda and add a small quantity of barf in it. When everything is in the bowl mix it and enjoy it. You can serve this to fancy parties. This dessert is very appetizing but you can’t eat a whole bowl of it because this is very heavy. This is served in a glass so you can see the layers of it.

Ingredients for making rabri

  • Milk 1 kg
  • almond 1/2 cup
  • khoya 1 cup

Method of cooking

Step 1

Take a cooking pot and turn the flame low and then add milk and when the milk started to thicken add the khoya and almond and stir continuously if you did not stir continuously the milk will burn and the falooda is ruined. Cook the milk for 25 minutes and then turn the flame off. The rabri is ready.


Usually you can not make kulfi at home so bought 5 kulfi from store.


Take 1 kg seviyan and add 5 cups of water and boil until soft and then drain the water.The seviyan is ready.

Ingredients for making sheera

  • sugar 2 cups
  • water 1/2 cup
  • rose essence 1 tsp

Method of making

Step 1

Take a pan and add suagr, water and rose essence and stir it until the sugar started to thicken.The sheera is ready.


Buy 1 packet of crushed ice.


Take a large glass and add seviyan and then add 2 tbsp of rabri and then add 1 tbsp of ice and then add 2 tbsp of sheera and then again repeat these steps and then the top of it add cubes of 1 kulfi and the falooda is ready.
