Filipino – Chicken Adobo

Chicken Adobo is an classic Filipino dish which is famous throughout the country because of its elegant taste and simplicity. It is the national dish of Philippines and is one the best dishes in the whole country. It is eaten at both lunch and dinner and is enjoyed by the families altogether. This dish goes way back to early 16th and 17th century. Adobo is an Spanish word which means marination.

Pakistan, India – Baingan ka Bharta

The word baingan is usually known as EGGPLANT or BRINGAL in english and bharta is a word usually describe the mixture, mashed form of anything, so baingan ka bharta is the dish of eggplant when cooked with the flavorable spices and served in the mashed form.

Japan – Nikujaga (Japanese Beef Potatoes)

Nikujaga is actually a stew dish and, it has two basic elements, beef, and potatoes. This dish is said to be the fusion dish of western and Japanese styles together. Nikujaga is most popular especially in Winters when served with hot soups and rice. In the 19th century, this dish was invented by a chef of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Chef Norman Van Aken used the word FUSION CUISINE. This was the first time used a word for cuisine. Japanese cuisine has a number of dishes that are formed by the impact of other cuisines especially CHINESE CUISINE and WESTERN CUISINE.

Thailand – Khao Tom

Songkrang is a water festival that is held every Thai New year for three full days. The festival is all about a water fight. After playing with water, it would be great to eat something warm, and Thailand has the tastiest porridge in the world, called Khao Tom.

Indonesia – Celimpungan

Many kinds of food are cooked only in a special event. One of them is Celimpungan from Palembang city, Indonesia. A dish that only cooks when people of Palembang celebrating Eid Al-Fitr. Celimpungan is a yellow soup filled with fish cake and some vegetables.
